Feast-day of Saint Arsenije Sremac at Pec Patriarchate
Patron Saint-day of the Patriarchate of Pec celebrated. A large number of worshippers from all Serbian lands gather at the centuries-long see of the Serbian archbishops and patriarchs. UNESCO restores frescoes thanks to the donation of the Russian Federation
With the blessing of His Holiness Kyr Irinej, Serbian Patriarch the Patron Saint-day(slava) of Saint Arsenije Sremac solemnly celebrated. The celebration began with solemn vigil service which was celebrated by His Grace Kyr Jovan, Bishop of .On the feast day, on Saturday, 10 November 2012, Their Graces Kyr Joanikije, Bishop of Budimlje-Niksic; Kyr Teodosije, Bishop of Raska-Prizren; Kyr Jovan of Nis and Kyr Jovan of Lipljan celebrated the Divine Liturgy. There were lots of believers from many parts of Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After the Holy Communion, the slava cake and wheat were blessed, and Bishop Joanikije held a sermon.
Next day, on Sunday, 11 November 2012, the Holy Liturgy in the church of the Most Holy Mother of God was served by Their Graces: Kyr Jovan, Bishop of Nis and Kyr Jovan, Bishop of Lipljan. Before the Liturgy they blessed the frescoes which were restored this year owing to the donation of the Russian Federation to UNESCO.
