Louvre Museum delegation from Paris visit Patriarch Irinej
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch received yesterday on July 10, 2012 at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade His Excellency Francois-Xavier Deniau, ambassador of the Republic of France in Belgrade and Mr. Henri Loyrette, General Director of the Louvre Museum in Paris with associates.
On this occasion the delegation of this famous museum visited the Museum of the Serbian Orthodox CHurch, which recostruction is finalizing these days, and the side chapel of Saint Symeon the Myrrh-Gushing.
During the talk with Serbian Patriarch Irinej and Mr. Vladimir Radanovic, the director of the Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Mr. Loyrette pointed out a significance of the cooperation of the cultural institutions of Serbia and France.
The reception in the Serbian Patriarchate was also attended by Mr. Jean Durand, the chief custodian of the Department for works of art of the Louvre museum; Mr. Benoit De-Saint-Chamas, Special Adviser to Mr Loyrette; Mr. Jean-Luc Goester, advisor for cooperation and cultural activities of the Embassy of France and the director of the French Institute; as well as Mrs. Smilja Dusanic-Marjanovic, historian; Mr. Marko Popovic, archeologist and Mrs. Sonja Filipovic, associate at the French Institute.
