The first Sunday of Great Lent – the Sunday of Orthodoxy, was prayerfully and festively celebrated in Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Chicago. 

Divine Liturgy was served by all of the parish priests: Archpriests Darko Spasojevic and Dobrivoje Milunovic and Priest Nikolaj Kostur. S.S.S. Branko Radichevich Choir, directed by Jelena Stojakovic, sang responses at the liturgy. Also, many servers participated in the Altar. After the Prayer behind the Ambo, the clergy, servers and a large number of children with icons in their hands participated in a procession, in that way showing the triumph of the true faith over heresies, schisms and all temptations which the Orthodox Church has encountered from the beginning to the end of the world.

With the blessing of His Holiness the  Serbian Patriarch Irinej and of His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Nis a two-day conference  with the theme “Orthodox monasticism” was opened in Nis under auspices  of the Centre for Church Studies of Nis on 7 March 2019.

The scientific conference was opened by Patriarch Irinej who evaluated development of monasticism in Christian Church and particularly in Serbia, ”where monasteries are not empty, people visit them in order to experience a real Christian life observing the Gospel teaching…”

On the great feast of the Nativity of Christ - Christmas, His Eminence Porfirije, Metropolitan of Zagreb and Ljubljana, officiated the holy hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Zagreb.

He was concelebrated by the Cathedral clergy.  Along with the faithful people who gathered to celebrate Christmas, the Liturgy was attended by Milan Bandic, Mayor of Zagreb with associates Dusko Lustin, Mrs. Bogdanka Vulpa and Mrs. Jelena Pavicic Vukicevic, Mr. Milorad Pupovac, President of the Serbian People's Council, and Mr. Boris Milosevic, a parliamentary representative of the Serbian national minority.

15 and 16 December 2018, the St. Nicholas parish in Johnstown, PA celebrated their parish Slava (patron saint’s day). 

 The festivities started with the celebration of Great Vespers on the evening of the 15thby the V. Rev. Protosindjel Sava (Medakovic) assisted by the Altar Severer Vasilije Dragovic.  The responses were sung by Bogdan Diener in Byzantine Chant. He was assisted by V. Rev. Milan Dragovic, Danica Wess, Petra Neil, and others.  After Vespers, a large number of the parishioners made their confession in preparation to receive Holy Communion the next day.  These events were followed by a fellowship hour with coffee and Lenten cakes served by Kolo Sisters.
