Serbian Patriarch visits Georgian Patriarch Ilia II
Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, pays an extraordinary friendly four-day visit to Georgia. He traveled there yesterday, on 9 January 2013, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the enthronement and the 80th birthday of His Holiness Catholikos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II. His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and deacon Aleksandar Sekulic, official from the Office of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch, accompanies His Holiness.
Following His arrival to Istanbul, His Holiness, along with his escort, visited the Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in this city, where His Holiness had a unique opportunity to see registry books which have been kept in the Consulate and which they witness to the life of the Serbs in the ancient Emperor’s city.
The Serbian Church delegation was welcomed at the Tbilisi airport by high dignitaries of the Georgian Church.
