On Sunday, August 13, 2012 His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch officiated at the Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the New Gracanica Monastery with the concelebration of His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern America and many clergy and deacons.
At the end of liturgy His Grace Bishop Longin addressed His Holiness, welcoming him to the New Gracanica monastery and the Diocese of New Gracanica and Midwestern America, expressing his great joy that His Holiness, for the first time since his enthronement, served the liturgy in this monastery.
In Gorazdevac near Pec a commemoration was held for the children killed in 2003 while swimming in the Bistrica river. The investigation that EULEX took over from UNMIK was closed. Families have been waiting for justice for nine years.
With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno consecrated yesterday on August 13, 2012 foundations of the church devoted to Holy King Stefan of Decani in Zemun's suburb of May the thirteenth. The church is built by people of this area along with members of the Special Anti-terrorist Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Electronic Warfare Unit of the Serbian Army which are stationed close to this church.
On Sunday, August 6, 2012 in the monastery of Gracanica the annual seminar of the priesthood of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija. In the work of the seminar, which was led by Bishop Teodosije, fifty seven priests and seven deacons from all parts of the Diocese participated. The work of the seminar began with the lecture of protopresbyter-staurophor Dragan Kojic on the subject "Serving in times of the suffering of the Church".
With the blessings of His Grace Bishop Mitrophan the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America will celebrate its annual Diocesan Day on Sunday, August 12.
