Patriarch Porfirije conversed with Mrs. Anne Lugon-Moulin, Ambassador of Switzerland
His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije met on 24 June 2025, at the Patriarchal Residence in Belgrade, with Her Excellency Mrs. Anne Lugon-Moulin, Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Serbia.
In this first official meeting, His Holiness extended a warm welcome to Mrs. Lugon-Moulin and wished her a successful term in Belgrade, expressing confidence that her diplomatic service would contribute to further strengthening the relations between the two closely connected countries.
In an open and friendly conversation, the interlocutors exchanged views on a range of important topics concerning both the bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Switzerland and contemporary global challenges.
Among other things, the Patriarch emphasized the importance of interreligious dialogue, which the Serbian Orthodox Church has been continuously fostering for decades. He underlined that this is a way of preserving peace and promoting understanding among peoples, and that the Church, through its mission, can serve as a bridge of cooperation, solidarity, and reconciliation.
Ambassador Lugon-Moulin informed the Patriarch about Switzerland's current activities in Serbia, emphasizing that the relationship between the two countries is founded on mutual respect and a shared desire for progress.
The meeting was also attended by: Protopresbyter Đorđe Stojisavljević, Head of the Cabinet of the Serbian Patriarch, and Mr. Mladen Andrejić, officer of the Patriarch’s Cabinet.
