Serbian Patriarch Porfirije met with Metropolitan of Mytilene kyr Iakovos
His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije received His Eminence Metropolitan of Mytilene kyr Iakovos with his sacred entourage at the See of the Patriarchate in Belgrade on 10 October 2025.
Metropolitan Iakovos, well known for his decades-long fervent care, charitable work, and active love toward the Serbian people, expressed his gratitude for the cordial reception and asked His Holiness the Patriarch for his archpastoral blessing and prayerful support for the clergy and faithful entrusted to his care. The guest also conveyed expressions of brotherly love and prayerful fellowship of the Greek people toward the Pleroma of the Church of Saint Sava.
Metropolitan Iakovos crowned his visit to the Serbian Orthodox Church by serving the Holy Liturgy in Brod, in the Diocese of Zvornik and Tuzla, where on 14 October 2025 – the Feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos – he took part in the celebration of the town’s patronal feast day.
The reception was also attended by His Eminence Metropolitan of Dalmatia kyr Nikodim.
