A monumental work by Dr. Marguerite Peeters “The Gender Revolution – A Global Agenda?” presented to public
The monumental work of Dr. Marguerite Peeters, The Gender Revolution – A Global Agenda?, translated and published by the Publishing Institution of the Archdiocese of Belgrade-Karlovci Duhovna Reč [The Spiritual Word], was presented on 10 February 2026, in the crypt of the Church of Saint Sava on Vračar.
Over the past decade, the mission of the Serbian Orthodox Church has been particularly directed toward the preservation of the sanctity of marriage and the family, that is, toward pointing out the detrimental effects of gender ideology and practice on the understanding and life of the human person, the family, and society in the contemporary world.
To this end, we recall, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije served, on 11 September 2022, together with tens of thousands of faithful gathered in front of the Church of Saint Sava on Vračar, a Prayer Service for the sanctity of marriage and the family, and shortly thereafter, as President of the Holy Synod of Bishops, bearing in mind the challenges and trials faced by our Church and her faithful people, he decided that in all churches and monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Church, at all divine services, the Prayer for the sanctity of marriage and the family, and for concord and peace among our people, be offered. Scholarly conferences followed: on 16 January 2024 – Serbian Identity, the Serbian Language and the Law on Gender Equality; and on 14 March 2024 – Legal Aspects and Consequences of the Law on Gender Equality.
The most prominent participant at the first scholarly conference was Dr. Marguerite Peeters, a leading global researcher and author of several books and three hundred reports in which, from a Christian perspective, she analyzes postmodern ethics, the gender agenda, and the ethos of the “new global consensus” constructed under the auspices of the United Nations (biography in Serbian: https://spc.rs/sr/news/iz-zivota-crkve//15667.dr-margerit-a-piters---biografija.html).
In order to provide encouragement to Serbian researchers, authors, and activists, His Holiness blessed that Mrs. Peeters’ book The Gender Revolution – A Global Agenda? be translated and published by the Publishing Institution of the Archdiocese of Belgrade-Karlovci Duhovna Reč.
On 10 February, the following spoke about the book in the crypt of the Church of Saint Sava on Vračar: Presbyter Prof. Dr. Vladan Tatalović, editor of the edition; Dr. Aleksandra Pavićević, Senior Research Fellow at the Ethnographic Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts; and the author, Dr. Marguerite Peeters.
The presentation of yet another significant publication of the Publishing House Duhovna Reč was attended by Their Graces Bishops Jerotej of Šabac, Ilarion – Vicar Bishop of Novo Brdo, Dositej – Vicar Bishop of Lipljan, and Tihon – Vicar Bishop of Moravica; the Minister of Education, Mr. Dejan Vuk Stanković; clergy; and a large audience.
His Grace Vicar Bishop of Novo Brdo kyr Ilarion addressed those present on behalf of His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije (audio recording of Radio Slovo Ljubve: https://slovoljubve.com/cir/Newsview.asp?ID=47866).
The presentation of the book was beautified by the chanting of the Women’s Choir of the Cathedral Church in Belgrade.
