The Serbian community in North Macedonia presented a Charter of gratitude to Patriarch Porfirije

On 26 February 2026, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije met at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade with Mr. Ivan Stoilković – Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia.
 
On that occasion, Mr. Stoilković, on behalf of the Serbian community in North Macedonia, presented His Holiness with the Saint Sava Charter as the highest recognition conferred by that community on the occasion of the feast of Saint Sava.
 
– By this act, the Serbians of North Macedonia express their profound respect and deep gratitude to Patriarch Porfirije for all that he does for the benefit of the Serbian Orthodox people, and especially for those living in North Macedonia, stated Mr. Stoilković.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia emphasized that the Serbian Church has, throughout the centuries, represented the pillar of the spiritual, cultural, and national identity of all Serbians.
 
The interlocutors unanimously concluded that ecclesiastical unity and conciliarity, as a shared aspiration, are best manifested and affirmed in the mutual love, respect, and brotherly relationship between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Archdiocese of Ohrid, and that the legacy of Saint Sava remains a sure guidepost and spiritual orientation amid contemporary challenges.
