Patriarch Porfirije hosts Greek Church choirs in Belgrade

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije received on 26 August 2025, at the Parish Home of the Church of Saint Sava on Vračar, members of the Byzantine and Ethno-Choir Agia Skepi from Agrinio and the Choir of the Parish of Saint Mother Paraskeva from Athens.
 
In a cordial and warm conversation, His Holiness greeted the dear guests from fraternal Greece, emphasizing that every encounter of Orthodox Christians is a testimony of living faith and brotherly love that transcends borders and languages: – In the song born in the bosom of the Church, the joy of the Resurrection is always recognized, and every tone of church chanting is a prayer that lifts us up to heaven. With your voices you testify that the Church is one and that in Christ we all speak one language – the Serbian Patriarch conveyed.
 
The choir members expressed their gratitude to His Holiness for his blessing and hospitality, and on that occasion performed several spiritual hymns.
