His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije officiated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy on 11 August 2024, at the Church of Saint Sava on Vračar. Clergy from the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci concelebrated with His Holiness in the prayerful presence of the faithful.

– The one who has faith and strives to live by that faith lays a good foundation. He establishes a true and proper basis so that everything goes as it should. That means that every external thing will also be as it should, so that one may see God’s hand, His love, the expression of His blessing and grace in everything. Then he sees, thinks, hears, speaks, and acts differently because he does not think, speak, listen, or act by himself, from his fallen and mistaken nature or from his fallen and mistaken actions. Instead, he sees everything through Christ, thinks through Christ, sees through Christ, hears through Christ, speaks through Christ, and does everything through Christ. Then everything in our lives becomes different. Where there is no true and proper faith, only a declarative one if there is any at all, everything is distorted and twisted because the foundation of our life is crooked, the seed that is supposed to bear fruit is crooked. If that root is twisted, then we see everything differently than it is, we see it distorted, we see it darkened. Faith in that sense is transformation, brothers and sisters; it is repentance. Repentance is transformation, a renunciation of one’s fallen nature, distorted, impassioned, selfish, poisoned by self-interest. Repentance is a renunciation of such logic and the effort with all our might to establish Christ’s logic in our minds, His rules of life, so that we may think through Him, hear through Him, speak through Him, see one another through Him, and through Him establish relationships and connections, through Him see the weaknesses and infirmities of others. So, when we say “through Him” it means through truth, justice, and love – His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije preached.
