On 5 November 2023, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije officiated the consecration ceremony of the Holy Trinity Church in Resistencia, located in the Argentinian Province of Chaco.

Concelebrating with His Holiness were Their Graces Bishops: Arsenije of Niš, Kirilo of Buenos Aires and South and Central America, Nikodim of Dalmatia, Metodije of Budimlje-Nikšić, Leonid of the Diocese of Argentina and South American of the Moscow Patriarchate, and Stefan of Remesiana. The devout people prayerfully participated in the service. On this occasion, Patriarch Porfirije delivered the following sermon:

– The Holy Liturgy will be served in the church we consecrated today. Precisely in the Holy Liturgy, we become participants in eternity, and all our belongings, especially our unity and love, become eternal in the church of God and in communion with God. In the church, we are baptized; it is where we wed and enter into marriages; we confess and repent in the church, and we bid farewell to our loved ones who depart from us into the embrace of God. And we do all this in communion with God, for Christ our Savior is present in the church. He is present when we serve the Holy Liturgy, and by grace, we become partakers of Christ during the Holy Liturgy. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we rejoice today, for this city has gained its Orthodox soul. Until now, there was only an Orthodox body here, but with the consecration of the church, the city has gained an Orthodox soul and Orthodox people. Although the seeds were sown by Serbians, the Church is open and welcomes every person, regardless of their place of birth or nationality. The Gospel calls us to be one people, the people of God, by making an effort to live according to the Gospel and by taking Christ’s commandments as our guide. For all these reasons, brothers and sisters, I embrace you all in Christ the Lord and rejoice that we pray together today. First and foremost, we thank God for your existence and for your witness to Christ. At the same time, you, who have come from the Old Regions, as we call them, bear witness to the culture and spirituality of the Serbian people, but you are nonetheless integral members of this country, its people, and its culture. We are grateful to all who, through prayer, effort, and donations, have contributed to the construction of this church.
