His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije attended the festive Nativity reception of the Serbian National Council in Zagreb. On that occasion, he congratulated the Nativity and expressed his satisfaction with today's gathering.

– “On this day, we do not only get an idea or a concept of good, but the absolute good comes among us, and that is God. He reveals to us the truth of the meaning of our existence, and then from that closeness to God we become close to others”, said the Patriarch in his speech at the reception.

The Patriarch said that there is a way to God, and that is faith, but also to other people regardless of boundaries: – “I am glad that we are gathered here today, I am glad that the composition of the assembly is as it is, because no matter how much we are all special and have personal seals, we are called to be the people of God, to be his Church, citizens of the Kingdom of heaven.”

Today, the Serbian National Council organized a festive Nativity reception in Zagreb, which was attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dačić, the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, as well as other Serbian and Croatian state officials.
