His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije served the Second Vigil with Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos at the church of Saint Sava on Vračar on 31 March 2023.

On Matins of the fifth Saturday of Great Lent, the entire Annunciation Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos is read. This Akathist, divided into four parts (three kontakia and oikoi every week), was also read on the first four Fridays of the Holy Forties during the Small Compline Service. Because of this beautiful and content-rich morning service, with the reading of the Ascension Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos, also called – the Second Vigil Service, the fifth Saturday of Lent is called “Akathist Saturday.”
