His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije arrived at the Visoki Dečani Monastery on the morning of 5 January 2024.

After a ceremonial welcome by the monastic brotherhood and the abbot Sava, His Holiness the Patriarch venerated the relics of Saint King Stefan of Dečani. Addressing those present, Patriarch Porfirije emphasized:

­- Unity, peace, and harmony arise through encounters. Therefore, it is important to come here, to meet with the people who live here, to hear their concerns and dilemmas, and for them to hear yours. In this listening, something valuable will surely be born. I repeat once again, it is crucial to comprehend that mutual understanding, harmony, and peace cannot be achieved through unrest. When you invest in unrest, you reap unrest, but when you invest in peace - peace as a gift from God, as spiritual peace, then it is God Who, on our behalf, reaps peace. Remember, neither peace, harmony, love, nor Kosovo are defended on YouTube and Twitter; instead, come and see, carry a part of the cross and a part of the suffering, share the good that you have, let your shoulder be ready to support a weary head, and then, when you or anybody else encounters trouble, God will make sure that we all have peace and love.
