His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije sent a congratulatory message to the Chief Rabbi of Serbia Mr. Isak Asiel on the occasion of the Passover, in which, among other things, it is stated:

– Extending congratulations to you and all members of the Jewish community on the occasion of Passover, a holiday that you celebrate as an expression of gratitude for the freedom that your ancestors have attained after the ordeal of slavery, we express a prayerful wish that you spend the holiday days and those that follow them in peace and prosperity, glorifying the God who, by saving the homes of the Israelites in Egypt, showed that the people who believe have their path of deliverance and salvation. The strength of the faith of Moses and the people of Israel points us, Orthodox Christians, towards the Feast of Feasts for which we are preparing. May the Lord grant peace to the Jewish people and all the nations with whom they live so that they may glorify the Lord in peace forever and ever, amen!
