Patriarch Porfirije meets with the Director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbians in the Region

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije met on 28 April 2026, at the Patriarchal Residence in Belgrade, with Mr. Vladimir Kokanović, Director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbians in the Region.
 
Patriarch Porfirije welcomed the distinguished guest and emphasized that he highly values the work of the institution that cares for the position of the Serbian people in the surrounding countries and in the diaspora, noting that in this regard, together with the Serbian Orthodox Church, it is engaged in the same important mission.
 
Director Kokanović expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and acquainted His Holiness with the work of the Directorate under his authority, especially with activities carried out in the region, as well as with efforts to improve the status of the Serbian people despite various social and political circumstances. Director Kokanović also informed His Holiness that the Directorate provides substantial support to certain activities of the dioceses of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the diaspora.
 
The conversation also highlighted the importance of preserving holy sites, cultural heritage, and the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church, which represent the foundation of the spiritual and historical continuity of the Serbian people across the world.
 
At the conclusion of the cordial meeting, the Patriarch wished Director Kokanović success in his further work for the benefit of the Serbian people and the Church of Saint Sava.
 
Also present at the reception were: Protopresbyter Đorđe Stojisavljević, Chief of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch; Mr. Miroljub Nestorović and Mr. Stefan Grilihes, advisors to the Director; and Mr. Boris Sekulić, an official of the Cabinet of the Serbian Patriarch.
