His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije met on 3 July 2026 at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade with Pastor Dr. Mark Burns, spiritual advisor to the President of the United States of America, Mr. Donald Trump.
 
The meeting, which was also attended by members of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church: His Eminence Metropolitan of Bačka kyr Irinej and His Eminence Metropolitan of Šumadija kyr Jovan — was held in a spirit of mutual understanding, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between two Christian countries and two Christian peoples.
 
During his visit to the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Republic of Serbia, Dr. Burns will visit a number of Serbian Orthodox monasteries and churches.
 
Also in attendance at the meeting were: His Grace Vicar Bishop of Novo Brdo kyr Ilarion; Mr. Fay Nemer, consultant and Chief Executive Officer of the American Chamber of Commerce for the Middle East and North Africa; Mr. Goran Petković, Chief Executive Officer of Gemini Transport and co-founder of the organization Serbians for Trump; Mr. Mike Mansour, consultant and Senior Presidential Advisor on Middle East Affairs in the Trump Administration; Ms. Jovana Petković, Chief Operating Officer of Gemini Transport; Mrs. April Phelps, Chief of Staff to Pastor Mark Burns; Mrs. Veronica O'Shields, Executive Assistant to Pastor Mark Burns; Deacon Nikola Kostić, Secretary of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch; Deacon Nikola Mutavdžić, staff member of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church; and Mr. Boris Sekulić, staff member of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch.
