Patriarch Porfirije meets with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije met on 28 April 2026, at the Patriarchal Residence in Belgrade, with Mr. Martin Elhersma, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Serbia.
His Holiness informed the distinguished guest about the difficult situation, as well as the major challenges and pressures faced by the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
Thanking the Ambassador for his visit, Patriarch Porfirije emphasized that the Serbian Orthodox Church, remaining faithful to her Gospel calling, strives in the contemporary world – full of challenges and unrest – to bear witness to the values of peace, understanding, and brotherly love among people and nations.
Also present at the reception were: Deacon Nikola Kostić, Secretary of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch; and Mr. Mark van der Lingen, Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Serbia.
