On the Feast of the Presentation of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije will visit the Gornjak monastery in the Diocese of Braničevo.

After the act of consecration of the restored monastery church, Patriarch Porfirije will serve the holy Hierarchical Liturgy in that ancient shrine founded by Saint Prince Lazar (1379), where a part of his holy relics is kept.

The Gornjak Monastery was built on the left bank of the Mlava River. The charter of Saint Prince Lazar on the construction of the monastery was destroyed in a fire, but the copy was preserved: "I, the orthodox Prince Lazar, the sole ruler of the entire Serbian land, made an effort to offer this small gift to my Lady, the Most Holy Theotokos, and I built a church in a place called Ždrelo of Braničevo, and I endowed and supplied it with all kind of needs."
