On 4 March 2023, Holiness the Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije, together with His Grace Bishop of Bačka kyr Irinej – member of the Holy Synod of Bishops, received, at the Patriarchal See in Belgrade, His Eminence Metropolitan of Volokolamsk kyr Anthony, the President of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate and Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, Advisor to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.

In a warm and substantive conversation, mutual satisfaction with the fraternal cooperation between the two Churches and two faithful peoples was emphasized. The interlocutors particularly focused on overcoming the challenges faced by the Orthodox Church.
