The Serbian Economical Society Privrednik (Economist) celebrates 125 years since its foundation. This charitable organization, founded in 1897 in Zagreb, has been throughout three centuries of its existence and activity helping tens of thousands of poor children and young people with schooling and education.

The significant anniversary, which ranks the Privrednik as one of the oldest charitable organizations in Croatia, will be marked on 13 December 2022, at a ceremonial event at the Music Academy in Zagreb starting at 7 p.m.

This year's generation of students who have been granted a Privrednik scholarship will be introduced on that occasion. In the current school/academic year of 2022/23, the Serbian Economical Society Privrednik grants scholarships to a total of 126 pupils and students from all over Croatia. As part of the ceremonial event, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije will be presented with the highest award of Privrednik – the Grand Diploma of Vladimir Matijević – for exceptional charity and activism in the community in the spirit of Privrednik's traditional principle: Work – Savings – Virtuousness.
